Argon lasers are devices that use argon gas to emit a stream of light with a wavelength that is absorbed only by specific pigments like melanin and hemoglobin, and moves harmlessly through many other materials like fluids. Argon laser therapy uses this technology to address many gastrointestinal symptoms, including dysphagia, mucosal lesions, hemorrhages, and strictures. If you are looking into argon laser therapy in San Antonio, TX, connect with the GI specialists at a San Antonio Gastroenterology Associates location near you to request an appointment.

Laser therapy, in general, has more precision compared to other methods in that the treatment focuses more on the problematic or diseased tissue. Incisions made are shallower and shorter and create less ensuing trauma to the tissue. Often, patients tend to recover more quickly following laser treatments than from more traditional surgery.
